First and foremost congratulations to the Curtin Idol Champion which is none other then our Shine My Silhouette vocalist Jessie and all the other contestants as well. Videos of Jessie singing her way to number 1 would be up soon.

Adding on tonights S.M.S performance for Curtin Carnival which is also known as Curtin Open Day, videos of the performance would also be up soon.

It seems its been ages since the last update. Every member just seems to get busier as we progress further into the semester.

Now for your updates in random order:

1. Jessie(vocalist) has joined Curtin Idol, and event hosted my Curtin Music Club where
the winners are determined by 4 judges and votes from audience. The finals would be this coming weekend in conjunction with Curtin Carnival and our very own Jessie has qualified for the upcoming event. The finals would be held on 9 Septmember 2007 2pm do come and give your support.

note: Curtin Carnival is a yearly thing that happens in Curtin Malaysia and it is sort of like the biggest event besides prom night.

2. Shine My Silhouette would be performing in 2 slots for Curtin Carnival along with a few other bands from Curtin.

3. Shine My Silhouette will be joining the upcoming ROCKFEST in Miri, Latong Music Cafe this coming Saturday (8 September 07) which we have joined last year.

4. This end of September would mark our bands first anniversary and we are proud to say that our very first song "Moments Breaking" is still at the top of the chart in "Urban Local English Top 10 Chart" in Sabah.

5. Our latest song "Romance in Black" is released and there are still 3 more new songs on the way.

Well thats all i can think off for now and do keep updating. A video of Jessie singing during the qualifying stage of Curtin Idol would be posted soon.

The number of votes just shocked us and inspire us to reach higher and improve to become better. From 403 votes to 571 votes and this week 705 VOTES!!! Truly you all make us Shine!!! because with out you Shine My Silhouette is nothing. Thank you.

To all the people that listen to the radio Sabah Vfm just before midnight(just now)knows that Shine My Silhouette(S.M.S) is back at the top of the Urban Local English Chart with the song Moments Breaking. Special thanks to all those who voted for us and those of you whom supported us by listening to the radio.

RTM Day 1

Finally the day had arrive for our very first live radio interview, a very stunning moment indeed with many mixtures of emotions. Jessie was nervous, actually very nervous and Calvin is starting to get nervous just by seeing Jessie getting nervous and as for me (Derek) I was getting hyper…REALLY HYPER.

We where brought in by DJ Selina Light and I tell you I never knew that the radio station was so well guarded with many many security alarms, cameras and devices. Its like each door you pass through you need a pass card with password. DJ Selina brought us to the Chinese and English broadcasting office first to prepare us and herself a few things before we proceed to the studio.

So this is basically what happened and the full radio version would be posted up as soon as Calvin is done transferring the recorded cassette into mp3 format so that those of you whom weren’t in Sabah can listen to what fully happened.

After the show we went for a drink in Salim II and shortly after that DJ Selina came and join us, for those of you who don’t know what is it, it’s a 24 hours Indian shop located in a place called Lintas in Kota Kinabalu. Once again a special thanks to DJ Selina Light and Venesa for helping us to take pictures and videos.

Not enough Sleep

I know yesterday should be the official launch of Shine My Silhouette blog and news and details about our visit to RTM Sabah should be the very first update but please forgive us all as we had a splendid time last night and only went home around 5 a.m and me (Derek) and Calvin have not slept until 2 pm just now. (Calvin is still sleeping :>) Anyways due to loads of videos we have recorded and also many photos taken we will need some time to publish a nice long interesting post about our visit to RTM Sabah. So remember to visit again.

Before we end this post we would like to thank the DJ that interview us which is non other then DJ Selina Light and a little preview of the loads of fun we had. Here is how we showed our thanks and appreciation to her:

First of all I would like to say thank you to our fans that supported us whether in terms of voting or moral support. I would also like to thank my band mates Jessie, Derek and Vito for making this band a success because I am nothing without them. My intention of forming this band is to express our opinions and feelings through music. Our songs can be related to our daily life experience such as our ups and downs.

It is the same situation that everyone comes across in everyday life. Our main goal is to make the listeners feel better after listening to our songs and of course to enjoy. I am glad that we made it this far. Thanks again to everyone who has been involved in making Shine My Silhouette successful.

First thing first, i wanna say THANK YOU to NeiLsoN for introducing me to Calvin for the very first day. Then i wanna say uncountable THANK YOU to the band (Shine My
Silhouette) that consists of Calvin, Derek, Vito and Terrence that believes in me and making me their Vocalist. I am not much of a professional singer but i need to admit that i really like to sing and would like to try different kind of music genre. (laughing). Honestly, this is my very first time singing in public together with a full set of instruments. (never imagine to be one of the team) but if you have faith you can do it, then your belief might come true.. you would never know.. :)

I also want to say THANK YOU to Derek for making this Blog possible together with the help of Calvin, Kimberly and Collin. Thanks peps.

Firstly I would like to thank all the band members and our fans that motivated us to continue to Shine! You all are our source of light to Shine. This blog you are reading will be officially launched soon after our interview in RTM Sabah this Saturday and will be the official Shine My Silhouette blog. Links will be created to promote our blog through S.M.S MySpace and S.M.S Friendster. This blog will update all our fans out there of our current project we are working on and some in site to our lives and what we do.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people who helped me created the layout of this blog from top to bottom:
